Anna (Dadoly) Pappadopoulos

Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend;

 Anna (Dadoly) Pappadopoulos, 96, a member of a well known Greater Lowell family, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late James “Jim Pappas” Pappadopoulos who died November 5, 2007.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 11, 1922, a daughter of the late Charles and the late Efthemia (Phousias) Dadoly, she attended Dracut Schools and was a graduate of Dracut High school Class of 1939.
 Prior to her retirement, Anna was the Co-Owner of the former Pappas Real Estate in Lowell for many years.
 A longtime and active member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, she was a member of the Philoptochos Society.
 Among her many interests, Anna enjoyed traveling, entertaining and needlework. However, her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 Anna is survived by three daughters Thalia Loosigian and her husband Ralph of Chelmsford, Joanne Avakian and her husband Jerry of Scottsdale, Arizona and Elaine Daigle of Salem, NH; a son George Pappadopoulos and his wife Sylvia of Chelmsford;  nine grandchildren  Christopher Loosigian and his wife Lauren, Stephen Loosigian and his wife Kelly, Andrew Loosigian and his wife Hilde, Kristen Molin and her husband David, Raphael Avakian and his wife Heidi, Alyssa Schoenfeld and her husband Mike, Alex Daigle and his wife Amanda, James Pappadopoulos and his wife Sarah  and Nicholas Pappadopoulos; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers  James Dadoly of Mont Vernon, NH, Nicholas Dadoly and his wife Constance of Harwich, MA and Leo Dadoly and his wife Gayle of Mont Vernon, NH; three sisters-in-law Marjorie Dadoly of Dracut, MA, Marion Dadoly of  Florida and Ellie Pappas of Lynn; and many nieces and nephews.
 She was also predeceased by her son in law Carl Daigle and her siblings Elizabeth Miliotis,  Milton Dadoly, Angelo Dadoly, Chris Dadoly, Thomas Dadoly and Georgia Dadoly.
 Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday morning followed by her Graveside Committal at the Westlawn Cemetery at 12 o’clock NOON. E-condolences/directions at

    I remember many family gatherings at the Dracut home . I was able to have that summer trip to Greece in the summer of '72. Sorry for your loss.

    Some of my best memories growing up were with your family and were overseen by your mother, "Aunt Ann". A person who made everyone feel at home and special. I think of her often and am truly sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you all during this overwhelming time. I'm sure she will be with so many of our loved ones again and at peace.
