Dennis P. “Scooter” Moran

Loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend;

Dennis P. “Scooter” Moran, 76, of Lowell, died Monday morning May 21, 2018 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston after a brief illness.

He was the husband of the late Carol A. (Lynch) Moran who died February 12, 2009.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, February 1, 1942, a son of the late Dominic and the late Charity (Copeland) Moran, he received his education in the Lowell school system.

Dennis worked as a groundskeeper for over 30 years at U/Mass Lowell until his retirement in 2009.

A handyman and mechanic in his spare time, Scooter helped many family and friends over the years. He had a passion for antique cars, motorcycles and go karts. However his greatest pleasure in life was the time he spent with youngest grandchild, Dennis Jr..

Dennis is survived by two daughters Beth A. Moran and her husband Jeremy Couillard of Lowell and Sheila Greenhalgh and her husband Russell of Christianburg, VA; eight grandchildren Jason, Shawn, Dennis, Wayne, Sabrina, Louis, Veronica and Dennis, Jr.; ten great grandchildren; two sisters Beatrice Wallace of Lowell and Lorraine Lounsbury and her husband Ronald of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Jenny Cole and brother of the late Ada Baker and the late Arthur Moran.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday. Private Funeral Services will be held for the family at a later date.
