Alexander W. “Alec” Lambroukos
Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle
Alexander W. “Alec” Lambroukos, 75, of Tewksbury, died unexpectedly at his home. He was the beloved husband of Penelope (Carson) “Penny” Lambroukos who survives him and with whom he recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on July 1st.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, April 17, 1943, a son of the late William and the late Madeline (Sarandopoulos) Lambroukos, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1960. Eager to further his education, he then went on to graduate from Lowell State Teacher’s College (now known as UMass Lowell) earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education.
He was a lifelong member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity.
Before retiring, Alec was employed as a school teacher in the Tewksbury school system for 23 years and then the Lowell school system for 11 years. While teaching, he also worked part time as a teller at the former Lowell Institute for Savings for 37 years.
Among his many interests, he loved bowling, playing cribbage, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy every day. He was also an avid reader and New England sports fan, especially of the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. He could easily boast traveling all over the world with Penny. However, his greatest joy was the quality time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Penny, Alec is survived by a daughter Amy E. Lambroukos of Boston, MA; a son Kurt A. Lambroukos of Methuen, MA; two granddaughters Olyvia and Isabella Lambroukos; a grandson Preston Silva; a sister Penelope Anderson and her husband Robert of Tewksbury; three brothers Nicholas Lambroukos and his wife Judith, George Lambroukos and Stephen Lambroukos all of Lowell; a niece Krista Hibino and her husband Alan of Andover, MA; and a nephew Matthew Kydd and his wife Jennifer of Stow, MA;
He was also father of the late William C. Lambroukos who died April 14, 2016.
Friends may call the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service to be held Wednesday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY at 11 o’clock. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery.
