Raytheon Retiree; 81

James Edward Haley, 81, a native of Lowell and a member of a well-known Greater Lowell family, unexpectedly passed away Friday morning July 27, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH.

Jim was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He was the beloved husband for 36 years of Julie M. (Sullivan) Haley of Nashua, who survives him.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 5, 1937, a son of the late John James and Lillian Catherine (Quinn) Haley, he received his education in the Lowell school system.

Prior to his retirement, Jim was a millwright with the Raytheon Corporation at their Lowell, Bedford, Tewksbury and Andover plants for over 40 years.

An avid NASCAR fan, Jim locally was a sponsor and co-owner of several race cars over the years on the New England circuit. In addition Jim enjoyed wintering in Florida with his wife, camping and spending time at his summertime home in Meredith, New Hampshire.

Besides his wife, Jim is survived by two daughters Cheryl Haley-Beaudry and her fiancé Keith Rudy, Sr. and Karen Flynn and her husband Thomas of Dracut; two sons John Haley and his wife Kristine and Paul Haley and his wife Deidre all of Lowell; four step children Michael Sullivan and his wife Ann of Nashua, NH, Kathleen Sullivan of Virginia, Sharon Vancoppenolle and her husband Dan of South Carolina and Gary Sullivan and his fiancée Gail Caron of Salisbury; eight grandchildren Emile Beaudry, Jr., Haley and Jacob Flynn, Nathaniel and Aleksandr Haley, and Ella, Fiona and Lola Haley; two sisters Joan Garneau of Lowell and Carol Enis of New Hampshire; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his good friends George and “Choppy” Baldwin of Lowell and Keith Walton of Tyngsborough; and his cat Midnight.

Jim was predeceased by his siblings John “Jack” Haley, Marie Tousignant and his step children Cindy Sullivan and Donald Sullivan.
