Eleanor L. Koravos

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother

Eleanor L. Koravos, 78, a member of a well known Lowell family, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening September 26, 2018 at the Westford House in Westford, Massachusetts.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Nicholas and the late Annette (Brodeur) Koravos, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She went on to receive her Associates Degree in Finance.

Prior to her retirement, Eleanor was the Finance Officer at the Tsongas Arena for many years. Previously, she worked in finance at Control Data in Waltham.

An active member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church as an adult, and Holy Trinity Church as a child,  Eleanor was also a member of the Daughter’s of Penelope. She went to Greece in 2000 and visted relatives in her native town, Grevena.

Among her many and varied interests, she loved everything about politics, both locally and nationally. She was instrumental in getting Koravos/Coravos square dedicated to our many family members who served in the Armed Forces, as well as campaigning for Niki Tsongas and Hillary Clinton.

She enjoyed playing golf, attending concerts and plays and was an avid Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins fan.

However, her greatest joy was when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by three daughters Donna M. Allen of West Roxbury, Paula M. St. Jean of Nashua, NH and Sara M. Gagnon and her husband Russ of Andover, VT.; six grandchildren Shawnna St. Jean, Kyle Gagnon, Jake Allen, Tyler Allen, Derek Allen and Hannah St. Jean; two great grandchildren Jared St. Jean and Briella St. Jean; several nieces and nephews, among them Sandy Allard and also her former husband, Paul St. Jean of Lowell.

She was also the sister of the late Lorraine Traficante, the late Claire Kungulus and the late Nicholas Koravos, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Service Saturday morning October 20, 2018 at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL at 10 o’clock followed by the burial of her ashes at the Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
