George F. Kinney

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother;

George F. Kinney, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Brookline, NH on Saturday September 25, 2021.

He was the loving husband of Doris V. “Martha” Kinney with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in Lowell, MA on February 22, 1940, to the late Francis and the late Anna (Thibeault) Kinney, George ran, as a co-owner, a family-owned service station, Kinney’s Shell, on the corner of Pawtucket and Fletcher St in Lowell.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons William Kinney (Deana) and Richard Kinney; a daughter Sheila Kinney; seven grandchildren Richard, Jr., Stephania, Nicholas, Arielle, Ryan, Camron and Mackenzie; six loving great grandchildren Daxtin, Nicholas, Jr., Isla, Serenity, Henry and Wyatt; four brothers Donald, Michael, Peter and David; three sisters Frances, Linda and Donna; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandson Logan and two brothers Norman and William.

  I first when I was 16 years old and needed some repair work on my very first car. I took it to Kenny's. I'm 67 years old and George and his brother Norm have been someone that me and my husband could count on throughout the years. We were there the day that Brian Kenny lost his life on 911. We were there for the memorial service and we were there for the dedication of the baseball field. George and Norman have been great mechanics and more than that we have shared a warm relationship over the years. Sitting on Brian's bench waiting for the "boys" listening to them chat with each other is a fond memory that me and my husband share. Norman was missed when he passed away and George will also be missed and thought of fondly

  George and his brothers were my dad's (Ray Arpin) auto repair "go to" men for decades. I believe he met the Kinney family when they all resided on Washington St. in Lowell, MA. I have fond memories of "hangin'out" at the Kinney service station waiting for an oil change or some other repair. My condolences to the entire Kinney family.
