Beloved uncle, grand uncle and great grand uncle


Joseph L. Kadir, 87, of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 16, 2021, at his home after a brief illness.

He was the loving husband of the late Teresa (Husson) Kadir who died July 14, 2011.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 13, 1934, a son of the late Allie and the late Mary Ellen (Keefe) Kadir, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of the Lowell Trade School (nka Greater Lowell Technical High School).

A veteran of the Korean War, Joe proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force.

Prior to his retirement, Joe was a Highway Foreman for the City of Lowell Department of Public Works for many years.

Joe especially enjoyed the company of family and friends, trips to Foxwoods and his membership with the American Legion in Boston, Post 0462.

He is survived by his nephews and nieces Richard Olivieri, Dr William Husson, Dr Michael Husson, Jim Husson, Roseanne Husson Galvin, Paul Husson, Jeffrey Husson, Nancy Husson, Karen Husson Hopkinson, and Joe Husson; and many adoring great nieces and nephews as well as grand-great nieces and nephews. and his step-son Butch Patenaude of Lowell.

He also leaves behind many fans of his extraordinary joke telling and impersonations especially of Rodney Dangerfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Services and burial on Thursday October 21, 2021, at the Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell (Section 24) at 11 o’clock.     To Joe's family: We would like to offer our deepest condolences. Joe was our neighbor for over 20 years. We will miss how Joe would always give you a wave from his front yard, while he was doing yard work. We remember, how he always had a joke to tell or would do his Rodney Dangerfield impressions. We will miss his big smile, gardening tips, jokes and of most of all, his friendship. You will be greatly missed. Rest In peace my friend !!!!!

    To Joe’s family and friends: We are saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. We will always remember him as Lollipop Joe. He would a hand out lollipops when my children were little. He also had a dog biscuit for our dog. As our children grew up, our son Noah, starting at age 13 did various odd jobs for Joe. Lawn mowing, snow blowing, picking up and planting trees. Joe always found something for Noah. I think it was more about Noah’s company than it was about the odd jobs. Many times, Joe offered to adopt Noah. 60+ age difference, but they were friends.     I am very saddened by the news of Joe’s passing. I will miss him coming by the bank, doing impressions, recommending places to eat , bumping into him randomly and just having a nice conversation. RIP Joe
