Norma R. Lajoie, 74, of Westford, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 2, 2022, at Lowell General Hospital.

Born in Gardner, Massachusetts, June 29, 1947, the daughter of the late Norman E. and the late Virginia (Selig) Lajoie, she was a graduate of Gardner High School Class of 1965.

She went on to graduate from Lowell State College (nka U/Mass Lowell) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.

Prior to her retirement, Norma was the Executive Assistant to the Dean of Music at U/Mass Lowell where she worked for over 40 years.

Norma had a variety of interests including music, reading romantic novels, cooking recipes, trying new restaurants with friends, and eating lobster. She also loved dogs and all things Disney. She also enjoyed traveling especially to Arizona. The Grand Canyon, Alaska and of course WDW. What made all her interests even more special was the wonderful personal connections she made with others who shared those interests. She especially loved going on the road with friends to see favorite performers in concerts and plays.

She is survived by her dear friends Eleanor (Ellie )and Daniel Letourneau of Bellingham and their children Daniel P. Letourneau, Jr. also of Bellingham, Laura M. Dube of Douglas and Mark D. Letourneau and his wife Kelley of Franklin; their grandchildren Caitlyn, the late Emily, Anthony, Benjamin, Hayden and Reid; and many dear and loving cousins and friends.

There will be no services at this time. This spring there will be a Graveside Service at Notre Dame Cemetery in Gardner, MA to be announced. E-condolences at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.     You are closer to your cousins than the norm. You even shared the same home at times. For some, it was physically impossible to say goodbye. Too others it was just too painful. Those of us who could be by your side near the end were. I'm so glad you had such good friends where you chose to spend your later years. But you were always with us. If not at the parties or visiting, then in our hearts. I think about you every day and miss you terribly. A piece of our family is gone. You are at the head table now, waiting for the rest of us. Give Mom, Memere, Pepere and Rita a kiss for me. See ya soon. I love you.

    Norma was an amazing mentor two thousands of music students at UMASS Lowell over her long career. She treasured her friend, Ellie, and her family as her own. In the 23 years that I knew her at UML, Norma always spoke about how wonderful they were to her, how proud she was to call them her family and the wonderful trips to Disney. She was truly blessed to have them by her side till her passing.

    Norma was my childhood friend since the 4th grade. You had such a great smile. So many memories shared...hanging at Cheryl's home singing while you played the piano., Jr High Band, Jr. High basketball, High Scool Band and our Band trip to the Cherry Blosson Festival, what an honor to March in that parade. Time at your camp, Girl Scouts with Mrs Poppy. Hampton Beach, double dating, my visits back to Massachusetts, and our live long phone conversations..You are in my heart.. LOVE YOU
