Elaine M. Reilly

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend;

Elaine M. (Ganem) Reilly, 89, passed away peacefully at Lowell General Hospital on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Born on May 10, 1933, in Methuen, Massachusetts, Elaine was the daughter of the late Kamel and Emma (Pearson) Ganem. A graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1951, Elaine went on to graduate from Simmons College in 1955.

For over 54 years, she was the loving wife of the late John F. (“Jack”) Reilly Jr., who passed away November 8, 2009. She was a proud and loving mother of six children as well as a grandmother of nineteen and great grandmother of five. She loved spending time with her family.  Elaine never missed a chance to celebrate her loved ones, whether it was a sporting event, performance, school activity or life achievement.

Elaine and her family spent summers on Cape Cod where she enjoyed boating and entertaining family and friends. Her perfect day was to be with family enjoying the sights and sounds the river has to offer. She was a long time communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell and was a member of a close knit Thursday night bridge club for many years.

She is survived by four children: Patricia Daniel and her husband William of Newport Beach, CA, Kathryn Bolduc of North Reading, Michael S. Reilly and his wife Lorraine of Andover and John C. Reilly and his wife Maria of Andover; nineteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her daughters, Susan Szum and Mary Jo Quinlan and her brothers, Dr. Kenneth Ganem and Robert Ganem.

A private Funeral Mass and burial was held for her immediate family. E-condolences can be made at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.  Those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the Immaculate Conception Church Restoration Fund, 3 Fayette St., Lowell, MA 01852. • Fr. Iain MacLellan, OSB  - With sincere condolences
    To all the Reilly families, especially her children, I send my sincere condolences, and the assurance of my prayers and remembrance of her at Mass and in my prayers. My Abbey community joins me in remembering her at our daily Mass. The beautiful photograph accompanying her notice was so well chosen I have to say. It says everything about her. There was no one lovelier, more generous, thoughtful, kind, and spirited. Her strength, her laugh, her enthusiasm was such an inspiration for us as young teens and adults visiting her home in Lowell or at the Cape years ago. She and her husband Jack were the best examples any young person could ever have had. God rewards them greatly I am sure. I will always remember them in my Masses prayers. I am so sorry for her family; it is a great loss. May you find comfort in the memory of the beautiful life she had, and that she shared with so many. Fr. Iain Grant MacLellan
