Catherine H. Andrews

Catherine H. (Housianitis) Andrews, 89, of Lowell, died Monday, October 27th at Lowell General Hospital/Saints Campus. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew (Andriopoulos) Andrews who died October 2, 1981.
Born in Lamia, Greece, March 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Athanasios and the late Anastasia (Antonopoulos) Housianitis.
Before retiring, Catherine was employed as a solderer with Wang Laboratories in Lowell. Previously, she worked as a seamstress at Lark Dress Company and Lowell Dress Company both in Lowell.
Catherine was a longtime member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell where she was also a member of the Philoptochos Society.
Among her many interests, she was known to be a great seamstress and cook and absolutely loved entertaining her family and friends. Being all about family, she was extremely devoted to her children, siblings, nieces, nephews and godson.
Catherine is survived by a daughter Alice Andrews of Lowell; a son Peter A. Andrews of Lowell; a brother Costas Housianitis of Salisbury, MA; several nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Greece; and her godson Stephen Xigoros of Lowell.
She was also sister of the late John A. Housianitis who died May 17, 2011.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service to be celebrated Friday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH of the HOLY TRINITY at 10 o’clock. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery.
