Beloved brother and uncle;
 
 Gregory J. Murphy, 63, of Lowell, died Wednesday, January 14th at his residence.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, September 8, 1951, the son of the late Thomas F. Murphy, Sr. and the late Helena (Byrt) Murphy, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1969. He then went on to attend Lowell State College (now known as U-Mass Lowell).
 Greg was currently employed as an Information Specialist in the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, having worked there for over 15 years. Prior to that, he was a sales manager with Sterling Electronics in Waltham.
 A sports enthusiast, Greg was an avid Boston fan whose knowledge and interests went well beyond Boston sports.
 An expert 45’s player, he especially enjoyed playing with his family and friends.
       He was a lifelong communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell.
 Greg is survived by a sister Kathleen Akashian and her husband Bruce of Lowell; three brothers Thomas F. Murphy, Jr., Garry P. Murphy and his wife Norma and Kevin J. Murphy and his wife Ann, all of Lowell; and six nieces and nephews; Brian, Kerry, and Brendan Akashian, Jason and Matthew Blodgett, and Kevin Thomas Murphy; several grand nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday. His funeral will take place from the Funeral home Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock followed by a Celebration of Life at ST. MARGARET CHURCH at 10:30 o’clock. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
