Loving husband, father, and grandfather, 77

 James Norbert Mulvaney, recently of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 29th at the age of 77 after living with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases for many years. He was the beloved and devoted husband of 49 years to Mary E. (McManmon) Mulvaney who survives him.  
 Mr. Mulvaney was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, a son of the late Norbert P. and the late Lillian A. (Felthaus) Mulvaney. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in industrial engineering. He then embarked on a career in manufacturing beginning with General Electric.  His work took him and his family around the United States.
 Golf, playing bridge, and bowling were some of his favorite hobbies.  Mr. Mulvaney was particularly interested in words, filling his time with books, games of scrabble, crosswords, and whenever possible a pun.
 In addition to his wife Mary, James is survived by his four children and their spouses, Elizabeth A. Mulvaney and her husband Christopher Ramsey of Pittsburgh, PA, Timothy J. Mulvaney and his wife Andrea of Richmond, VA, Kathleen M. Mulvaney and her husband Andrew Feller of Arlington, MA, and Shawn P. Mulvaney and his wife Rebecca of Washington D.C.; seven grandchildren Jamie, Abigail, Bronwyn, Dorothy, Benjamin, Tabitha and William; a sister Joan Johnson and her husband Gene of Asheville, NC; a brother Jack Mulvaney of Spartanburg, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Carolyn Mulvaney.
 In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Wednesday morning, May 13, 2015 at ST. FRANCIS CHURCH in Dracut at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell to follow. E-condolences at

    Sorry to read of Jim's passing. I worked with him at GenerL Electric in Lowell 50 years ago. He was a gentleman and scholar. He was polite and considerate and a pleasure to work with. My sincere sympathy to his wife and children.x
