Mary C. Driscoll, 97, a lifelong resident of the Acre Section of Lowell, died Thursday morning, July 16th at Willow Manor Nursing Home in Lowell. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 17, 1917, a daughter of the late Mortimer and the late Margaret (Nolan) Driscoll, she attended St. Patrick Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Patrick Girl’s High School in the Class of 1936. Before retiring, Mary was employed as a Burler and Quality Control Inspector at Merrimack Mills in Lowell for over 20 years. Active with St. Patrick Church in Lowell, Mary was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality as well as the League of Catholic Women and St. Patrick’s School Alumnae. Mary is survived by a brother-in-law Francis Zipps of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also sister of the late Margaret Zipps, Daniel J. Driscoll, John J. Driscoll, Helen F. Driscoll, Anna Bergholm and Richard A. Driscoll. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday.
