Florence T. Abraham


 
 Florence T. (Salem) Abraham, 91, of Lowell, died Friday, August 14th at home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Frederick T. Abraham who survives her and with whom she celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on April 20th of this year.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Paul and Fadwa Salem, she attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School and St. Patrick’s Girl’s High School and was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1941.
  Before retiring, Florence was employed as an Inspector with Raytheon Corporation in North Andover and Lowell for twenty years. Previously, she worked at the former Giant Store in Lowell and was a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. John’s Hospital during WWII.
 Among her many activities, Florence enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing and was known for making knit caps for infants at Lowell General Hospital Birthing Center and patients at the Cancer Center. She also made baby blankets for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her grandnieces and nephews. Florence also loved gardening, doing word search books, cooking and collecting coupons and recipes. She was a member of IBEW Local 1505 in Woburn, a former member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality of St. Patrick Church in Lowell and member of the Women’s Club at St. Rita Parish in Lowell.
 However, above all else, she cherished the quality time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 In addition to her husband Frederick, Florence is survived by a daughter Joyce A. Corbett and husband Mark of Hamden, CT; two sons Brian P. Abraham and wife Cheryl of Glendale, AZ and Frederick P. Abraham and wife Kim of Taunton, MA; daughter-in-law Kathryn (Dolan) Abraham; six grandchildren Jennifer Ferreira and  husband Joseph of Pelham, NH, Megan Donovan and  husband James of Derry, NH, Matthew Corbett and  Crystal Bashore of Mystic, CT, Stephen Corbett of Houston, TX, Thomas Corbett and wife Emily of Hamden, CT and Benjamin Abraham of Taunton, MA; five great-grandchildren Sarah Ferreira, Joseph Ferreira, Samantha Donovan, Connor Donovan and Keira Corbett; two sisters Agnes Mastrogiacomo and Theresa Mercier both of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
 She was also mother of the late Warren J. Abraham and sister of the late Mary Makrez, Rose Nader, Jennie Mullen and Margaret Mitchell.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to Lynn Schwartz for her many years of caring for Florence and tending to all her needs.
The family is also grateful for the support and help from the Merrimack Valley Hospice.
