Helen R. (Corey) Campbell

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister;

Helen R. (Corey) Campbell, 94, a lifelong resident of the City, died Saturday evening at Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late Richard A. Campbell who died in 1977.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 29, 1920, the daughter of the late James and the late Dora (Brais) Corey, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1938.

Before retirement, Helen worked as a secretary for Atlantic Corey Crane in Lowell for a number of years.

A member of Mt. Pleasant Golf Club, Helen enjoyed playing golf and cards (45’s) with her friends.

However, what she truly cherished was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen is survived by three daughters Cathy C. Ronan of Lowell, Patricia M. Nichols and Richard O’Loughlin of Charlestown and Maryalyce Ravagni of Tewksbury; seven grandchildren Phillip R. Ronan and his wife Magaly of Lowell, Elizabeth Castillero and her husband Osmar of Lowell, Mark J. Ronan, Karen Casey and her husband Sean of Lowell, Laurie Nichols and her wife Shelly of Holyoke, Timothy Nichols of Lowell and Caroline Sheehan and her husband Timothy of San Diego, CA; 9 great grandchildren Jack, Matthew and Michael Casey, Corey Ronan, Emma and Vivian Castillero, Luke and Silas Nichols and Graham Sheehan; three sisters Mary Geoffroy of Lowell, Ruth Frawley of New Castle, NH and Dorothy Kilcoyne and her husband Raymond of Clinton; two brothers Robert Corey of Lowell and Paul Corey and his wife Patricia of FL; two sister-in-laws Rose Prescott of Nashua, NH and Marcella McGilvery of Lowell; a brother –in-law Raymond Jelley of Lowell; many nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Richard Campbell and the late Martha Campbell and she was the sister of the late James, Arthur, William and John Corey and the late Grace Hession and the late Theresa Iminski. 

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her GRAVESIDE COMMITTAL SERVICES Wednesday morning at ST. MARY CEMETERY in North Tewksbury at 10:30 A.M.
