  • Eugene Picard  - To the Koukias/Vassilakos families
I'm sorry for your loss. I just came across this in the paper a little late due to the passing of my mom (Eve Gekas) in late October. Mom and I used to have breakfast at Dunkin Donuts in Tyngsboro with her and Greg which we enjoyed talking about old days back in Lowell. Mom and Effie would talk about when they were younger and Greg and I would talk about guy stuff and B-24's. Those were nice memories and we were sad when we lost touch after Gregs passing. It's those nice times we remember to get us thru these sad times.
  • Polly Belanger  - to all the Vassilakos family.
Aunt Effie was a wonderful woman and will be missed by so many people. She had a beautiful family, everyone was always so good to us. We visited Aunt Effie many times, she always had some fantastic baked goods for all. My father-in-law Nick always went down to visit his brother Greg and Effie made sure we all had something to snack on. Many wonderful memories of the whole family. Effie was such a good listener and talker and so wise, and I enjoyed our many conversations. The family has always been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. Love, Polly
  • Ernie Descheneaux  - Sorry for your loss
Hello to all of you. I am sorry for your loss. Your mother was always pleasant with all my encounters with her when I was younger. I know the last few years have been a struggle for you trying to balance the memories of your mother and the realities of the situation in her later years. I know that struggle too. I have my prayers and best thoughts going your way. Love Ernie
  • Lewis & Niki Demetroulakos  - May her Memory forever be Eternal
To Effie's family and friends both my wife and I want to extend our condolences. I grew up with the Koukias family many years ago an I might add that they were cherished years. I always remember Effie with her constant smile and gracious hello.
  • Wanda (Belanger) Dunn  - To all my cousins
So sorry for the loss of Auntie Effie. I have so many good memories of her and Uncle Greg. They were always so kind, loving, and caring just like my grandfather, Nick. Whenever we were in the area, we would visit and my brother and I would be able to hang out with our cousins. They were always so nice to us and we had fun times. Then when I had children, I would visit Auntie Effie and Uncle Greg, having coffee, and the kids loved that Uncle Greg would go out and get them munchkins. I will always remember that Auntie Effie would bake something whenever we visited. She was also a great listener. I will never forget such two wonderful people. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. Love, Wanda
