I am sitting here crying as I read this obituary. I was looking up Gary's address as I had lost touch after the last time we had spoke. He raised my brother, sister, and I. He was a good man, and he didn't deserve to go so young. Prayers and condolences to all of his family members. God bless.

  • John Batten  - Sorry for your loss.
As the letter carrier for Alma Street for 10 years, I had many opportunities to run into Gary. He was always one of the people who I looked forward to seeing and speaking with during my rounds. It would always begin with a robust, "HELLO MR. MAILMAN' !! A very friendly and kind individual who I'm sure will be missed by everyone. I'm sorry I heard of his passing too late to visit with his family and friends, but please accept my condolences and well wishes.

My condolences to the family, so sorry to read of Gary's passing, I can only imagine that this unexpected loss has brought great sorrow and God's word assures us that He does care when we lose a loved one in death, that is why He promises that soon His son Jesus Christ will perform the greatest miracle, "All those in the Memorial Tombs will hear his voice and come out" (John 5:28,29). May you all find comfort in this wonderful promise from God and keep dear Gary close in mind as you await the fulfillment of God's promise.

  • Lucson Pierre  - An exceptional man who will be missed.
This lost has hit me harder than i thought it would because it was just the 13th of may that i stepped out of my apartment with crutches from a previous surgery and got to spend about 20 minutes talking Gary. He gave me some positive word of reinforcement that i would be walking in no time with great commitment to myself and physical therapy. There were no time where i would call that he wouldn't be there in an instant to take care of any issues for me and family no matter how big or small it would be. I am honored and blessed to have known Gary. He was truly a blessing in my life and so many others and he'll be missed. My condolences.

Gary was always there for everyone at Plaza Place. He helped me many times during the snow storms get my car cleaned and moved. He always took care of getting my AC running every summer in my unit. Always a smile and a wave in the mornings when I went to work. Always a friendly conversation. Thank you Gary. May you rest in peace.

Losing someone we have know for such a long time is nothing easy, but knowing that we have been able to be a part of the life of that person, we can realize that we were blessed to have been able to share in Gary's life before he went to rest in eternal salvation. I am honored and blessed to have known Gary. He was truly a good friend in my life and I will miss him. I will never forget his kindness towards my family and me. May God give him eternal rest and the family the strength to bear this great loss. My sincere condolences.
  • Patricia MacQueen  - My condolences to Gary's family and friends
I have lived for eleven years in the condominium complex where Gary worked so he has been part of my life all that time. He was always so warm and cheerful when he helped me out with something that needed attention I would feel very good afterwards. I am among the older residents here and it seemed that Gary really cared about my well being. He was also terrific directing us all and our cars when we were digging out after a snow storm! Gary, thank you for your wonderful spirit. I shall truly miss you.

Gary was a great guy. He helped me out in a lot of ways over all the years iv'e been at Plaza Place. Always a greeting in the morning when i ran into him on the way to work in the morning. Couldn't ask for a nicer guy. He'll be missed by me any so many others.Thank you Gary for all your kindnesses over the years.
  • Kat and Ted Tringo  - Best of the Best
Our deep felt sympathies go out to the family and to the Plaza Place staff. I moved here to Plaza Place in 2001 and have known Gary since then. He was always good to my husband and I. He was always here, whether we'd see him driving around and he'd wave or nod or we'd stop and chat. He'll be missed...he already is missed. He was the best. He always had a story to tell, a joke, anything to make you laugh or just smile. He never showed us that he was having a bad day, even if he was. He'd always be upbeat. The thing I'll miss the most is when he'd walk through the hallways in the winter yelling move your cahs, move your cahs for the snowplow. He wasn't just the maintenance man, he was our friend.
  • Laura and Adam Tambone  - Sincere condolences
Gary was instantly welcoming and helpful when we moved into Plaza place. He was always game for some boisterous chat, and looking out for people's best interests. He really made us feel welcomed and taken care of. We will miss his infectious energy and presence. We had just been talking with him on Friday, it all seems so sudden. Truly sorry and good luck to family and friends during this difficult time.

For 18 years there was one thing I could always count on - Gary's booming voice echoing throughout the complex. He always stopped for a conversation (or some pokes) with us about whatever was happening in the complex, or our lives. He was never too busy to give us a hand with whatever we were fixing, usually after he threw up his hands and said "No. No, not that way. Do it like this. Oh - just get out of the way". His laughter told us he really enjoyed showing off his skills. The complex will NEVER be the same. He will always be remembered.
  • Darlene Turco

I've only worked with Gary for about two years, but it feels like many more. Gary was the lifeline of Plaza Place in many ways. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. Gary will be strongly missed and always remembered. He was very devoted to Plaza Place, but nothing was more important to him than his family and Melissa. You all will be in my prayers and in my thoughts. Gary will be watching over you. Sheila Sullivan, Plaza Place
