Kitsa E. “Mitzi” Anastopoulos

Loving mother, grandmother and sister
Kitsa E. “Mitzi” (Tsandikos) Anastopoulos, 90, of Hingham, formerly of Cape Cod and Lowell, died Wednesday, July 13th at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore W. Anastopoulos who died in 1982.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 14, 1926, a daughter of the late Michael and the late Helen (Karakantas) Tsandikos, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1944.
Mitzi moved from Lowell to Cape Cod in 1991 and then to Hingham in 2011. She was a longtime member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell.
Before retiring, Mitzi was employed as a Vice President in the Mortgage and Loan Department at Comfed Bank, formerly the First Federal Savings Bank in Lowell for over 28 years.
Among her many interests, Mitzi enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading, walking and was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. She also loved the quality time that she was able to spend with her family and friends.
Mitzi is survived by a daughter Frances Gordon and her husband John of North Scituate, RI; a son Harry Anastopoulos M.D. of Weston, MA; two grandchildren Marina Anastopoulos of Boston, MA and Theodore Anastopoulos of Weston, MA; a brother George Tsandikos of Chelmsford, MA; and two nieces Angela Papandreou and Elaine Damianakis.
She was also sister of the late Bessie Haidutis and aunt of the late John Haidutis.
Friends will be received on Saturday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY from 10 to 11 o’clock. Her Funeral Service will immediately follow in the church at 11 o’clock.
