 Loc Uch, Socheath, 67, of Lowell, died Tuesday, July 26th at T fts Medical Center in Boston with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lily Seangly Suong who survives him.
 Born in Kandal Province, Cambodia, June 6, 1949, he was a son of the late Sary Uch and the late Lay Ben.
 In early January 1981, Loc Uch, Socheath and his wife settled in Lowell, MA. As one of the first few Cambodians to settle in Lowell, Loc Uch, Socheath was hired by the International Institute to work as a translator to help assist newly arrived Cambodian Refugees. He has helped hundreds of Cambodians settled in Lowell, as well as connecting Cambodian people with their families. Before retiring, Loc Uch, Socheath was employed as a Technician with Wang Laboratories in the 1990’s.
 Among his many activities, Loc Uch, Socheath was a Cambodian community activist, a member of the Glory Buddhist Temple in Lowell, a member of Wat Khmer Samaki Santikaram of North Chelmsford and served on the board of directors of the CMAA (Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association) in the late 80’s.
  In addition to his wife Lily, Loc Uch, Socheath is survived by his children Sowathana “Sna” Uch, Sochenda Uch, Linda Uch, Sophea Uch, Sokunthear Uch and Sovannara Uch, five grand children; and his younger brother Bunheng Uch.
 Temple and wake service will take place at Glory Buddhist Temple on the “7th” Day of his passing, Monday, August 1, 2016 at 3:00 PM followed by a prayer service by the monks in traditional khmer ceremony.
 Interment will take place at Westlawn I Cemetery on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Procession to Westlawn I Cemetery will start at Glory Buddhist Temple with a morning prayer service at 7:00 AM. If you would like to only attend the Burial Service please be at the temple no later than 8:30AM.
 The family of Mr. Loc Uch, Socheath is requesting that all attendees for the ceremony wear white instead of the traditional black attire if possible (not required). Although we are mourning his passing, we must also take this time to celebrate his life.
