Jane A. (McCarthy) Wolfenden
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend;
Jane A. (McCarthy) Wolfenden, 73, a longtime resident of the Highlands section of the City, died Thursday evening at Lowell General Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of James S. Wolfenden, who survives her, and with whom she recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary July 14, 2016.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Daniel and the late Theresa (Dunn) McCarthy, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1961.
Prior to her retirement, Jane was a logistics specialist with Lantheus Corporation formerly known as DuPont.
Previously, she worked at Wang Labs and also Norcross and Leighton Insurance in Lowell.
Jane was a communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell.
As the loving mother of five children and a working mom, Jane most cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her husband James, she is survived by three daughters Jamie Taylor and her husband Tracy of Londonderry, NH, Tina Wolfenden and her fiancé Stephen Loranger of Londonderry, NH and Lynn Ducharme and her husband Chris of Lowell; two sons Timothy J. Wolfenden and Jon J. Wolfenden both of Lowell; six grandchildren Christopher Dixon and his fiancée Michelle Bowlan, Corey Lombardi, Benjamin Ducharme, Alison Lombardi, Madisyn Ducharme and Justin Taylor; her brother Daniel McCarthy and his wife Elaine of Florida; her sister Mary Bussiere and her husband Ken of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher in Lowell from 2 to 6 P.M. Sunday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday morning at ST. MARGARET CHURCH at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
