Retired Nurse at N.E. Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn;


Sharon A. (Sheehan) Witts, 67, of Dracut, formerly of Lowell, died Sunday morning at her home with her loving family by her side.


She was the beloved wife of the late William P. Witts, Sr. who died March 14, 2010.


Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 15, 1949, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Irene (Moran) Sheehan, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in 1968.


She went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Sharon’s nursing career spanned nearly 40 years as a member of the Nursing staff of the New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn.


She was a lifelong communicant of St. Rita's Church in Lowell.


Sharon loved spending time with her family, especially family card games. She also enjoyed travelling to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and North Conway in her free time.


She is survived by her daughter Corie Silverstein and her husband David of Billerica; her son William P. Witts, Jr. and his wife Amy of Tewksbury; four grandchildren Caleb R. Silverstein, Cooper W. Silverstein, Molly M. Witts and Liam P. Witts; a sister Donna Abisi and her husband Ronald of Hampton, NH; three brothers John Sheehan of Lowell, James Sheehan and his wife Susan of Seabrook, NH and Robert Sheehan and his wife Diane of Lowell; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.


She was also the sister of the late Thomas “Tiny” Sheehan.


Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Friday morning at ST. RITA CHURCH at 10 o’clock. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
