Mary H. (Elliott) Leahey, 81, a lifelong resident of the City, died Thursday morning November 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.She was the beloved wife of John W. Leahey, with whom she recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 1st.Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 17, 1935, the daughter of the late Francis and the late Mary A. (Glynn) Elliott, she attended St. Patrick's School and Keith Hall. She was also the sister of the late Francis J. Elliott, Jr.Mary found joy in her family and faith and was most happy when she was with her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was always up for a conversation at her kitchen table, whether it was current events, history, cooking or bragging about her wonderful family. She was generous to local charities and believed in supporting her local community.Besides her husband, Mary is survived by two daughters Linda Polewarczyk and her husband Brian of Nashua, NH, and Lorrie Rudis and her husband Michael of Merrimack, NH; a son John E. Leahey and his wife Ratchanee of Concord, NH; eight grandchildren Shannon Herrmann, Michael Royce, LJ Berube, Kyle Berube, Justin Berube , Emalie Rudis, Adam Sheppard and Kevin Collins; three great grandchildren Norah Herrmann, Mason Berube and Addison Sheppard; a brother William Elliott and his wife Hannah of Lowell; a sister in law Theresa Elliott, many nieces and nephews; and close family friends Rick and Pat Collins of North Andover.She will be missed dearly.Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST at Fletcher from 5 to 7 P.M.
