Ruth A. Frawley, R.N. 

 

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister; 
 
 Ruth A. (Corey) Frawley, R.N., 91, formerly of Newton, MA and New Castle, NH, died Saturday January 7, 2017, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen M. Frawley, M.D. who died August 7, 1989.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, October, 9, 1925, a daughter of the late James and the late Dora (Brais) Corey, she graduated from Lowell High School in the Class of 1944.  She then went on to graduate from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
 Ruth’s nursing career spanned over 50 years, including serving as Ted Williams’ nurse after the Boston Red Sox star broke his elbow in the 1950 All Star game. 
  A dedicated golfer and tennis player, well into her 80’s, she was very proud of her hole in one and breaking 100. Ruth was a longtime member of the Woodland Golf Club in Newton, MA and the Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, FL. However, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 Ruth was a loving mother to her seven children Mary Anne Frawley and her husband Robert Benedum of Amery, WI, Stephen M. Frawley and his wife Kathleen of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Patricia Frawley of New Castle, NH, Michael Frawley of Boston, MA, Philip Frawley and his wife Nelma of Palatine, IL, Chris Frawley and his wife Michelle of Suffield, CT and David Frawley and his wife Laura of Plano, TX. She was a loving grandmother to her 17 grandchildren: Ryan Carpentier, Cory Carpentier, Colleen Hennessy, Andrew Frawley, Caroline Frawley, Elizabeth Barton, Susan Barton, Frawley Barton, Michael Frawley, Justin Philip Frawley, Erin Frawley, Keara Frawley, Breann Frawley, Ellen Frawley, Mark Frawley, Katharine Frawley, and Scotty Frawley; Great-Grandchildren Thomas & Meabh Hennessy;
Ruth is survived by her two sisters Mary Geoffroy of Lowell and Dorothy Kilcoyne and her husband Raymond of Clinton; two brothers Robert Corey of Lowell and Paul Corey and his wife Patricia of FL; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
 She was also the sister of the late Helen R. Campbell, Grace Hession, James Corey, Arthur Corey, William Corey, John Corey and Theresa Iminski and sister-in-law of the late Marguerite Frawley.
  There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH in Lowell at 11 o’clock. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). E-condolences/directions at

    To all the Frawley Family, so sorry for your loss. Our Moms raised seven children and I will always be in awe of that.
