John “Jack” Owen Leary

Retired graphic artist with Hewlett Packard;

John “Jack” Owen Leary, 77, of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts died peacefully Friday morning at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus after a brief illness.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 21, 1939, son of the late Owen and the late Catherine (Mungovan) Leary, he attended Lowell Public Schools and went on to attend the School of Practical Art in Boston.

Jack proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy.

For many years, Jack was a graphic artist with Hewlett Packard.

An active member of the Billerica, MA and Sebring, FL Lodges of Elks, he also loved golfing with friends and travelling as well as walking and reading.

Jack is survived by two daughters Beth A. Leary of North Chelmsford and Brenda Higgins and her husband Rich of Haverhill; a son Jonathan King and his wife Allison of Round Rock, TX; five grandchildren; a sister Nancy Hemond of North Chelmsford; an aunt, Joan Lake of Hudson, NH and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Donald Leary, the late Gerald Leary and the late Janet Leary.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276  PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 3 to 7 P.M Tuesday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Wednesday morning at ST. MARGARET CHURCH at 10 o’clock followed by burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
