Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister Irene M. (Santerre) McAvoy, 90, of Lowell, died Tuesday, January 24th at Lowell General Hospital-Main Campus. Among her many interests, Irene enjoyed cooking, dining out and having a good martini with many olives, traveling, singing, gardening, flea markets, camping and playing bingo. However, her greatest joy, being all about family, was the quality time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memere was very much loved for her sense of humor, even when her health had started to fail. She will be greatly missed by those of us who enjoyed getting together with her for dinner or family parties and sharing memories of days gone by. Irene is survived by six daughters including Elaine R. Picard of Pelham, NH, Brenda M. Roberts of Lowell, Donna M. McAvoy of Lexington, SC, Debra A.
