Irene M. (Hatzithakis) Kostoulakos, 95, of Nashua, NH, but formerly of Dracut, died Wednesday March 1, 2017 at Courville of Nashua, New Hampshire. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen J. Kostoulakos who died October 3, 2013 and whom she was married to for nearly 67 years.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 22, 1921, a daughter of the late Michael and the late Gramatiki (Baharikos) Hatzithakis, she received her education in the Lowell School System. Irene was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell, MA where she was a lifetime member of the Philoptochos Society and a member of the Daughters of Penelope. She was also a member of St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church of Nashua, NH. Irene was known for making the best Thiples in town and for serving her Greek chicken soup every Sunday after church. She made plenty of soup for everyone and her door was always open for family and friends. She is survived by two daughters Marcia and her husband Donald LeBrun and Stephanie and her husband Stephen Pappas all of Nashua; two granddaughters Melissa Pappas of Nashua and Nicole Pappas of Boston; a sister-in-law Shirley Kostoulakos of Nashua and a brother-in-law Arthur Kostoulakos of Dracut; and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Irene was predeceased by two sisters Aspacia “Pat” Kirlis and Frances Athanas. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Aynsley Place in Nashua, Courville of Nashua and Home Health and Hospice of Merrimack, NH for their loving and dedicated care, comfort and support. Friends will be received at the TRANSFIGURATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH 25 Fr. John Sarantos Way in Lowell from 10 to 11 A.M. on Monday immediately followed by a Funeral Service 11 o’clock.
