Beloved sister and aunt
 
 Alice H. (Dukakis) Kaknes R.N., 99, of Missouri City, Texas, formerly of Lowell, died Wednesday, July 26th at Autumn Leaves of Riverstone just 4 days shy of her 100th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. Kaknes who died August 20, 1988.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 30, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and the late Fevronia (Sevastelis) Dukakis. She became a Registered Nurse following her graduation from the Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing in Jamaica Plain in 1939. 
 Prior to her retirement, Alice was employed as a Registered Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for over 40 years. Previously, she worked at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where she was appointed Head Nurse in the operating room.
 Alice was a former member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.
 Among her many interests, she enjoyed playing the violin, traveling with her husband and friends and she absolutely loved the sunshine and her flowers.
 Alice is survived by a brother Perry Mavrelis of Missouri City, Texas and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
 She was also sister of the late Athanasia Chakalis R.N. and the late Sarantos Mavrelis.
 Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday morning at the TRANSFIGURATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH in Lowell from 10 to 11 o’clock immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11.
