Carroll T. “Butch” Greenhalge, 67, of Nashua, died Monday, September 4th at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the longtime loving companion of Joyce A. Cox who survives him.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 16, 1950, a son of the late Carroll F. and the late Ethel L. (Collins) Greenhalge, he received his education in the Lowell school system. A veteran during the Vietnam Conflict, Butch proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Before retiring, he was employed as a Chef at UMass Lowell. Among his many interests, Butch enjoyed cooking, playing cards, fishing, attending rock concerts and horse racing even having owned his own race horse. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends and was an avid sports fan of every New England team. In addition to his companion Joyce, Butch is survived by four daughters Robin Hendrikson of NH, Victoria Greenhalge-Whanger of VA, Cathy Savory-Greenhalge of Lowell and Chelsea Rose-Greenhalge of FL; two sons Nicholas Greenhalge and his companion Jennifer Jones of Derry, NH and Thomas Greenhalge of Nashua, NH; eight grandchildren; two sisters Brenda Secore and her husband Ronald of East Greenbush, NY and Amber Greenhalge and her husband Harry Craven of Litchfield, NH; five brothers Hugh Greenhalge and his wife Patricia of Manchester, NH, Gary Greenhalge of Lowell, Bruce Greenhalge and his companion Joan Rudolph of Allenstown, NH, Lemmie Greenhalge of North Andover, MA and Bailey Greenhalge of Manchester, NH; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Robert Greenhalge and the late Frederick Greenhalge. Relatives and friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in Lowell from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. on Friday. His Funeral Mass will follow at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Lowell at 11:00.
