Thalia J. Bentas Thalia J. Bentas, 93, of Lowell, died Monday, September 18th at the Palm Center in Chelmsford with her loving family by her side.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, November 11, 1923, a daughter of the late John E. and the late Vaitsa (Laios) Bentas, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1942. Before retiring, Thalia was employed as a real estate broker in the Greater Lowell Area. Previously, she worked for the Red Cross and the United Shoe Workers of America Union in Boston. Thalia was a lifelong member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell where she was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptochos Society. Among her many interests, she loved to travel, especially to Greece and Russia and was an avid reader. Thalia is survived by a brother Atty. Efthemios J. “Tim” Bentas and his wife Lily H. of Boston, MA; and several cousins in Greece. She was also sister of the late Kleonike J. “Claire” Bentas who died in 2016 and the late Dr. Christos J. Bentas who died in 2003. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Thursday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY at 11 o’clock.
