George Charles Ryan, 64, formerly of Lowell, a US Air Force Vietnam era veteran, passed from this life on Wednesday October 25, 2017.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, August 26, 1953, the beloved son of the late Pauline (Tyrrell) Ryan, he grew up in the Highlands section of Lowell. A product of the Lowell School system, he started at the Washington School and continued to the Daley Junior High and then to Lowell High School.

George was a loyal friend and devoted brother who would do anything for his family. Thankfully his last years were spent in the city he loved, Lowell, around the family he so missed for all those years he lived away.

Currently, George was employed with the Engineering Department at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Jamaica Plain.

An avid Boston sports fan, he loved his Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics. He will be greatly missed by all those that loved him.

He is survived by his son, Jason Charles Ryan his wife Kathryn and cherished granddaughter Lucy of Anoka, MN; a sister Audrey Conceicao and her husband Francisco of Windham NH; his six brothers Dennis Ryan of Dracut, Mark Ryan and his wife Mary Joe Finn of Lowell, Kevin Ryan of Tyngsboro, Keith Ryan and his wife Debbra of Arlington, VA, Bob Ryan and his wife Michaelanne of Dracut and Dan Ryan of Dracut; along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

George was the brother of the late John (Jack) Ryan and the late Karen Anderson.

There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Graveside Services to be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in North Tewksbury Wednesday morning at 11:30 A.M.
