Loving wife, sister and aunt

 Karen G. (Gelineau) Bates, 54, a lifelong resident of Dracut, died peacefully on Saturday, January 27th at Lowell General Hospital – Main Campus, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Jackie Lee “Jack” Bates who survives her and with whom she celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary on November 5, 2017.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, February 5, 1963, a daughter of the late Charles and the late Stella (Belliveau) Gelineau, she attended Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School in the Class of 1982.
 Karen was most recently employed as a Technician with Microsemi in Lawrence for many years.
 Among her many interests, she enjoyed shopping, vegetable gardening, boating and fishing. She was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
 In addition to her husband Jack, Karen is survived by two sisters Cheryl Curtis and her partner Mark Corcoran of Dracut and Paula Burne and her husband Rick of Tucson, AZ; a brother Neil Gelineau and his husband Allen of San Francisco, CA; three nephews Donny, Matthew and Jonathan; three nieces Jessica, Nicole and Katie; and her beloved dogs “Lucy” and “Roxy”.
 She was also sister of the late David Gelineau.
 In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of a Memorial Service, a celebration of Karen’s life will be held in the spring. Details will be posted on Karen’s Facebook account. E-condolences at
