Martha I. “Izzy” Farmer

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend;

Martha I. “Izzy” (Murray) Farmer, 75, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 20, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus with her loving family by her side.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 12, 1944, a daughter of the late Martha E. (Clegg) Murray, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of the former Lowell Girls Vocational High School in 1962.

Prior to her retirement, Izzy was the Manager of Gus and Paul’s Tavern in Lowell for many years.

Among her many interests, Izzy enjoyed going next door for a cookout on a nice sunny day. She loved to bask in the sunshine with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. One of her favorite things was watching the Ellen Show when Twitch danced that would always make her smile. She was also a huge sports fan watching the Red Sox or Patriots game. Tedy Bruschi was her favorite.

She also cherished the times when she was with her family and friends.

She is proudly survived by three sons David A Bernardini and his wife Colleen “Co” of Lowell, Steven Bernardini and his wife Gabriel of Londonderry, NH and her youngest son Derek Bernardini and his wife Jean of Dracut; four grandchildren Korrie McGrade of Lowell, Zachary Bernardini of Dracut, Dylan and Sammy Bernardini of Londonderry, NH; two great grandchildren Macie McGrade and Emrie Martinez; a sister Charlotte Dimodana of FL; and her dear friends Karen Rogers and M. Sheila Carney.

Izzy was the sister of the late Shirley Cameron, the late Joan Russell, the late Lois Lecoy and also her beloved special friend Einar Nielsen and Judy Fleming.

Gloria J. Pearsall

Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend;

Gloria J. (Tacconi) Pearsall, 90, of Nashua, NH, but formerly of the Highlands section of Lowell passed away peacefully Wednesday morning February 19, 2020 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

She was the loving wife of the late Paul P. Pearsall who died in 1988.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Tello and the late Helen (Kondratowicz) Tacconi, she was a communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Church while living in Lowell.

Gloria attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Keith Hall and Lowell Commercial College (nka U/Mass Lowell).

Prior to her retirement, she was an Executive Secretary at the former Wang Labs in Lowell for many years.

Among her many interests, Gloria enjoyed classical music, the arts, travelling and gardening.

She is survived by a daughter Helena DeMasse and her husband Robert of Groton, MA; two sons Paul P. Pearsall and his fiancée Anna Terrones of Merrimack, NH and Gerald M. Pearsall of Mont Vernon, NH; three grandchildren Lauren Pearsall, Daniel Pearsall and Alexa DeMasse; and many nieces and nephews.

Gloria was also predeceased by her brothers Rino and Richard Tacconi and her daughter in law Cheryl (Moylan) Pearsall in 2011.

Richard A. “Dick” Beakey

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend

 Richard A. “Dick” Beakey, 92, of Lowell, died Sunday, February 16th surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lillian M. (Donohoe) Beakey who survives him and with whom he would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on February 23rd.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 15, 1928, the son of the late Andrew F. and the late Clara A. (Leclerc) Beakey, he received his education in Lowell schools and attended Keith Academy in Lowell.
 A veteran of World War II, Dick proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
 Before retiring, he was employed as a tool and machinery designer with Raytheon Corporation in Andover for over 30 years.
 Among his many activities, Dick loved walking, and was an avid New England sports fan, especially of the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. He was also a 4th Degree Knight at the Knights of Columbus in Lowell. His greatest joy however was the quality time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren.
 In addition to his wife Lillian, Dick is survived by two daughters Annmarie Cricones of South Portland, ME and Marianne Richards and her husband Robert Doherty of Groton, MA; a son Thomas R. Beakey and his wife Catherine of Auburn, NH; five grandchildren Kristen Beakey, Melissa Beakey, Paul Cricones and his wife Candie, Marissa Richards and Kaley Richards; three great-grandchildren Alexia, Connor and Caleb; a sister-in-law Virginia Ouellette of Cotuit, MA; a brother-in-law the Reverend Thomas Donohoe of Lowell, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
 He was also brother of the late Mary Guziejka.

John James Manikas

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend;

John James Manikas - age 81 of Lenoir City, Tennessee but a former resident of Lowell and Hudson, NH passed away Sunday morning, February 9, 2020 surrounded by family and friends.

He leaves behind his spouse, Irene R. (Kapsalis) Manikas of Lenoir City, TN; his children James Manikas and wife, Nancy, Christine Sweeney and husband, John, Karen Heffron and husband, Derek; grandson, Jonathan Clayton “Clay” Tipton all of Lenoir City. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Eliacopoulos of Hudson, NH; brothers, James Manikas and wife, Bernice of Tyngsboro, MA, and Philip Manikas of Malden, MA; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James John Manikas and Georgia (Apostolos) Manikas.

John was born in Lowell, Massachusetts where he attended school and graduated from Lowell High School Class of 1957 and went on to attend University of Lowell.

John was employed by Cabot Corporation of Boston, MA from 1961-1986. John and his family relocated to Lenoir City in 1981 and was General Manager of a Foundry and Tool Division in Athens, TN until his division was purchased by NGK Metals of Nagoya, Japan. John retired in the year 2000 from NGK. After retiring he consulted for approximately 10 years and officially retired in 2010.

John was a member the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell and also of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Knoxville, TN. He was a Mason and a member of Pentucket Lodge of Lowell, MA for over 55 years. He joined Kerbela Shrine of Knoxville in 1982 and was also a Jester of Court 57 in Knoxville.

John leaves a legacy of love, empathy and generosity.
