Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother;

David C. Laferriere, 86 of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

    I just became aware of Dave’s passing as Maureen was so nice to send me a card and say she received the Christmas card we sent him. He was a great neighbor and friend to Russ and Gloria Hopkinson as well as to me and my sisters Deborah and Janice. May his family be comforted by fond memories of good times spent together. God Bless!

  • Fran Nowak  - Friend and Neighbor
    I knew Dave was in poor health but am so sorry to hear of his death. As a plumber, he didn't get rich on my home as a client. He kept my mother's heating system going for so long that it was antique by the time I took it over. He was a raconteur par-excellence and since we agreed on most everything, we could talk at great length. He was a great asset to the Greater Lowell Technical School - I so wish he could be active on the education or political scene locally today. Another good man gone. My deep sympathy to his family.

  • George and Kathi Cheney  - Thanks to a great friend
    Thanks so much to Dave for all he did for us. He was a major help as we started work on our weekend camp. He generously donated his time and skill installing the plumbing and heat as well as his general construction expertise helping with so much else. We remember going camping together with Claire and Dave at White Lake State Park in Tamworth, NH. Also, we frequently enjoyed dining out together and a memorable trip to the bowling alley. Thanks also for introducing George to L. L. Bean in Freeport. Dave was a great friend and we’re sorry that we drifted apart. Our sincere condolences to Maureen, David, Michelle and the rest of the extended family. George and Kathi

    My deepest sympathy is extended to the family at this difficult time. I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We served together for over 10 years on the Greater Lowell Technical School Committee and we became good friends during that time. Dave was a devoted public servant who always looked out for the best interests of the students and taxpayers. Since moving to Tennessee a few years ago to accept a position as a professor I remained in contact with Dave, but distance and settling in made it difficult to keep in touch as often as I would have liked these last few years. This is a loss for the community that he loved as well as his family, but I know that he is in a better place with Claire. Rest in peace, my good friend.
