Meagan C. Kelly

Beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend;

Meagan C. Kelly, 34, of Andover, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday April 24, 2024.

Born in Boston, MA, August 8, 1989, the daughter of Robert C. Kelly of Oakland Park, Florida, and Belinda P. (Young) Kelly of Nashua, New Hampshire, she attended Wakefield High School. She later attended Salem State University, achieving a degree in Psychology as well as Early Child Development.

Meagan worked as a waitress for 110 Grille in Woburn, MA, and previously was a Special Education Teacher for the Lynnfield School System.

Amongst her many interests, Meagan enjoyed all the Boston sports teams, camping, and playing softball in her youth.

In addition to her parents, Meagan is survived by a brother: Robert C. Kelly of Jamaica Plain; aunts and uncles David M. Kelly and girlfriend Lisa Orlando of Salem, NH, Steven P. Kelly and his wife Gina of Salem, NH,; four cousins Brianna Byerley and her husband Sean, Elizabeth Savoy and her husband Jake, David and Brittany Kelly; she is also survived by many beloved friends.

Mary Elizabeth Sharkey
Beloved sister, aunt, and grand-aunt;

Mary Elizabeth Sharkey, a retired Lowell Special Education teacher and longtime resident of the Highlands in Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley.

Born in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph W. Sharkey and the late Elizabeth (McQuade) Sharkey, Mary attended Lowell schools, graduating from Lowell High School with the class of 1962. She then attended Fitchburg State College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education before earning her Masters in Special Education from Lesley University.

Mary began her professional career first working in Boston for publishing company Allyn and Bacon but her real passion was teaching. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked as a special education teacher for the City of Lowell at the James S. Daley Middle School for over 30 years.
Post retirement, Mary volunteered at the Day Surgery of Saints Medical Center, and rescued her first dog Coby, and later, Laverne. Both dogs were lovingly cared for, enjoying royal treatment throughout their golden years.

Mary also loved visiting with her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was always ready with a joke, pun, or word game challenge. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed writing poetry, painting, flower arranging, and spending time at North Hampton and Ipswich beaches.

She is survived by a sister, Joanne (Sharkey) Byrnes and her husband, Dr. Stephen P. Byrnes, of Salem, NH; two nieces, Caera B. Horwitz and her husband Adam of Needham, MA, and Dr. Lael M. Yonker and her husband Neil of Newton, MA; two nephews, Dr. Kier S. Byrnes and his wife Amanda of Medford, MA, and Craig Devin Byrnes and his wife Jaclyn of Annapolis, MD; and eight grand-nieces and nephews, Aedan, Caela, and Breacan Byrnes, Lila, Charlie, and Kian Horwitz, and Livia and Eli Yonker.

Friends may call for her visitation Monday morning April 22, 2024, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Margaret’s of Scotland Parish in Lowell, MA at 12:00 pm Noon. Elizabeth “Ally” Tavoularis, R.N.
Beloved sister, aunt, and cousin;

Elizabeth “Ally” Tavoularis, R.N., 97, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 3, 2024, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA.

Born in Lowell, MA, April 25, 1926, the daughter of the late John and the late Katherine (Shilakos) Tavoularis, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the class of 1943. She later earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Columbia University in New York City, and her Master’s Degree in Education at Boston University.

Elizabeth proudly served her country during WWII as a member of the United States Army Nurse Cadet Corps.

Prior to her retirement, Ally was an Instructor at UMASS Lowell School of Nursing. Previously, she was the Director of Nurses at Harvard University Health Services, Director of Nurses, now known as Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and Maternity Supervisor at Lowell General Hospital.

She was a member of the Philoptochos Society at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. Ally was an avid golfer, and a former member of the Mt. Pleasant Golf Club.

She is survived by nieces Kathy Lalos and her husband James of Portsmouth, NH, Ann Donnelly Tavoularis of Littleton, MA, and Aphrodite Zezas and her husband Spero of Buffalo, WY; she is also survived by several grand-nieces and grand-nephews Nicholas Tavoularis, Christina Tavoularis Breen and her husband Robert, Christopher Lalos, Victor Zezas, and Katerin Zezas.

She was the sister of the late Nicholas J. Tavoularis, Georgia Moser, Patricia Archambault, Louis J. Tavoularis, and Aristotle J. Tavoularis. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Anna Tavoularis and her nephew John Tavoularis.

Dr. Judith Cox Marley
1954-2024

Dr. Judith Cox Marley, of Andover, MA and Drakes Island, ME, known to friends as Judy, passed away on April 5, 2024 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. She was 69 years old. Judy will be remembered as a woman of remarkable passion.  Her intelligence and charisma touched the lives of those who knew her.  Judy effortlessly formed lasting connections with everyone she encountered.

Judy leaves her husband of 44 years, Steve. She is also survived by her two children, Elizabeth Marley Condosta of Portsmouth, NH and Andrew Cox Marley of Hopkinton, MA. In addition, she is survived by son-in-law John Condosta and daughter-in-law Amy Giroux Marley as well as grandsons William and Andrew Condosta and Christopher, James and John Marley. Judy was predeceased by her parents William “Wiffy” Cox and Mary (Moynihan) Cox. She also leaves her sister Linda Evans, brother-in-law Bob Evans of Salem, NH and brother, Bill Cox and sister-in-law Penny Cox of Drakes Island, ME, as well as four nieces and nephews, Carolyn and Jay Daw and Jack and Catherine Cox.

Raised in Lawrence, Judy attended St. Mary High School before pursuing her education at Boston College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Education. Following her graduation, she pursued a Master’s Degree at UMass Lowell.

Judy's teaching career took her to several Lawrence Public Schools, including the Adult Learning Center, where she served as the Center’s Director. She later held positions such as Vice President of Academic Affairs at the New England College of Finance and Assistant Dean at Boston University's Metropolitan College. Judy earned her Doctorate in Education from UMass Lowell in 2002, and in 2008, she became the Dean of Graduate and Professional Programs at Emmanuel College in Boston. In 2012, Judy began volunteering at the Lawrence Family Development Charter School. She was later appointed Assistant Superintendent serving there until her retirement in 2020.

Judy's passion for teaching extended to a faculty role at Boston University (BU), where she continued to inspire students even after leaving to serve as Dean at Emmanuel. In 2020, she was honored at BU with the Roger Deveau Part-Time Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Beyond her professional achievements, Judy's greatest joy came from her roles as a wife, mother and grandmother. Her battle with glioblastoma was marked by her incredible strength and resilience. Despite the health challenges she faced, Judy refused to succumb without a fight serving as a beacon of determination and hope to all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial that will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell, MA at 11:00am. Her burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in No. Tewksbury. E-condolences/directions at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
