McCarthy and his wife Jessica, two great grandchildren, Heather and Shawn and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Murphy McCarthy. Teresa attended the Immaculate Conception School, graduated from Lowell High School and attended Lowell Commercial College where she graduated at the top of her class. She worked in a variety of office positions until marrying her husband Paul in October 1947 on the “Sweetest Day of the Year.”

The consummate home maker, Teresa loved to be home cooking and gardening and taking care of her family. She was a loyal friend and would reminisce about her experiences with her two dear friends who had predeceased her, Marie and Phyllis. She was a quiet woman who enjoyed her own company. She was intelligent, strong-willed, had an interest in nutrition and health and liked to study medications and their health effects and interactions. She possessed great common sense and often wished she had made the effort to write a newspaper column on the subject.
