Cremation: Cremation is another word that has many meanings. It may involve visiting hours, a Funeral Service, a Memorial Service or direct disposition. Below is a brief listing of some of the Cremation alternatives available at O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Direct Cremation Service - Option A

For those families requesting a basic cremation service, we offer an economical option with several specific services. The price quoted for this type of service is substantially discounted from our GENERAL PRICE LIST. As a result, the services provided are limited to those explicitly described in the package explanation. In order to offer this lower than normal pricing schedule, we require payment at the time of need.

The service includes and is limited to:

Staffing for initial call, transfer from local hospital or nursing home to funeral home, sheltering of the deceased for the state required 48 hour waiting period, arrangements conference with family member(s) or other responsible representatives. We will complete and file death certificate, obtain burial/cremation permit, handle arrangements with Medical Examiner and arrangements with crematory, utilization of photographic identification, transfer the deceased via funeral coach to the crematory and forward or deliver the cremated remains in crematory supplied plastic/cardboard container to the person accepting responsibility for final disposition. We will compose and submit obituaries to a newspaper if requested.*

For those families requesting an identification period viewing prior to the transfer of remains to the crematory, a 15 minute period for up to four people, may be scheduled at a mutually convenient time for family members and the funeral home staff during normal working hours for an additional fee.

If desired, additional services and merchandise may be added to Option A cremation.

For those families requesting a cremation service followed by a graveside or memorial service, we offer an economical option with several specific services. The price quoted for this type of service is substantially discounted from our GENERAL PRICE LIST. As a result, the services provided are limited to those explicitly described in the package explanation. Also, because of this lower than normal pricing schedule, we require payment at the time of need.

This service includes and is limited to:

Staffing for initial call, transfer from local hospital or nursing home to the funeral home, shelter of the deceased for the state required 48-hour waiting period, arrangement conference with family member(s) or other responsible representatives. We will complete and file the death certificate, obtain burial/cremation permit, handle arrangements with the medical examiner, arrangements with the crematory, utilization of photographic identification, transfer the deceased via funeral coach to the crematory in the required alternative container. We will compose and submit an obituary into a newspaper if requested. We will make all necessary arrangements with clergy, musicians, cemetery personnel, etc. in order to arrange for graveside or memorial service at the selected church or cemetery.* A vehicle and attendant will be provided to transfer the cremated remains, floral arrangements delivered to the funeral home and necessary equipment to the church and/or cemetery. The funeral home attendant will be present to arrange and supervise the service at the church and/or cemetery. This charge represents the cremated remains interred in the crematory supplied corrugated container. If you wish to have an urn used, the cost of the urn will be added to a final statement.

 For those families requesting a cremation service but which to have a private family visitation prior to the cremation taking place, we offer an economical option with several specific services. The price quoted for this type of service is substantially discounted from our GENERAL PRICE LIST. As a result, the services provided are limited to those explicitly described in the package explanation. Also, because of this lower than normal pricing schedule, we require payment at the time of need.

 CREMATION with VISITATION for ASHES

 This service includes and is limited to:

 Staffing for initial call, transfer from local hospital or nursing home to funeral home, two (2) hour visitation period. This service also includes shelter of the deceased for the state required 48 hour waiting period, arrangements conference with family member(s) or other responsible representative. We will obtain burial/cremation permit, handle arrangements with medical examiner, arrangements with cremation, transfer the deceased to the crematory via funeral coach, forward or deliver the cremated remains in the crematory supplied cardboard container to the person or cemetery accepting responsibility for final disposition. We will compose and submit an obituary to one newspaper if requested.*If a Memorial Service or Graveside Service is also requested*

If a Memorial or Graveside Service is requested following cremation, we will coordinate arrangements with others providing service at the memorial service or graveside service; i.e. clergy, cemetery personnel, musicians, monuments, etc. We will provide an attendant and service car at the local memorial service or graveside service to conduct and organize necessary details at the service.

  If desired, additional services and merchandise may be added to Option C cremation.

As in the case of all funeral options, pricing schedule does not include the cost of cash advance items such as payment of cemeteries, crematory fee, payment of Medical Examiners fee, cremation permit fee, clergy honorariums or any other charges made by newspapers or others providing services that are not specifically mentioned. These charges will be added to your final statement.

Cremation Service - Option D

For those families requesting a cremation service but which to have a private family visitation prior to the cremation taking place, we offer an economical option with several specific services. The price quoted for this type of service is substantially discounted from our GENERAL PRICE LIST. As a result, the services provided are limited to those explicitly described in the package explanation. Also, because of this lower than normal pricing schedule, we require payment at the time of need.

CREMATION with VISITATION with VIEWING

This service includes and is limited to:

 Staffing for initial call, transfer from local hospital or nursing home to funeral home, embalming, other preparation, cosmetic services, gray cremation oriented casket, private two (2) hour visitation period. This service also includes shelter of the deceased for the state required 48 hour waiting period, arrangements conference with family member(s) or other responsible representative. We will obtain burial/cremation permit, handle arrangements with medical examiner, arrangements with cremation, transfer the deceased to the crematory via funeral coach, forward or deliver the cremated remains in the crematory supplied cardboard container to the person or cemetery accepting responsibility for final disposition. We will compose and submit an obituary to one newspaper if requested.*
