Rest in Peace
Gerald ”Gerry” M. Brewster passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 1, 2017. He was 63 years old.
Born in Wichita, Kansas on November 7, 1953 to the late Helene (Payton) Brewster and the late Emmett Brewster, he grew up in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Upon graduation from high school, he operated a successful roofing business, Fairmount Roofing, throughout the 1980’s until its closure. Always having an interest in cars, Gerry then worked for a short time at several car dealerships in the Merrimack Valley area. In 2015, Gerry co-authored a memoir “Why, Brother Why? ” about his experiences of addiction. This memoir was a cathartic journey for him in which he hoped would offer encouragement and support to others in the same recovery battle. All that knew Gerry, knew of his sense of humor and unstoppable impulse for a good laugh. He was an avid sports fan, who never failed to place a “wager” on his favorite team. Gerry will be remembered for his colorful personality, tough presence and kind heart. He is survived by his only son, Michael McNulty of Dracut, two grandchildren, Sean and Kyle McNulty of Dracut, his brother, Bruce and his wife Rosemary (Quinlan), his nephew, Connor Brewster, and niece, Anarose Brewster all of Lowell, and his special friend and companion of many years, Karen DiPietro of Chelmsford, as well as many lifelong friends in the Lowell and Boston area. In following his wishes, calling hours have been omitted and a private Funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of his family. E-condolences at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com. Those wishing to make a donation in Gerry’s memory may do so to Zack’s Team Foundation. (www.zacksteam.org). Arrangements by the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME – (978) 458-8768.
