Fond memories of Joyce and Soc, coming into my father's business, Merrimac Rug , my father use to tease Joyce about when she worked at Anton's and it was obvious that Soc had a crush on her and the same with her,, as a customer it was like a friend visiting and always a personally gratifying visit, I think Soc would refer to Joyce as his bride,if my memory is correct, they will be missed by all that touched them

Joyce E. (Haley) AntonopoulosLovingly RememberedLOWELL – Joyce E. (Haley) Antonopoulos, 88, a longtime resident of Dracut passed away peacefully on May 29, 2018. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Socrates “Soc” Antonopoulos, who died on January 16, 2010.Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on March 30, 1930, a daughter of the late Allan Haley and the late Vivian (Stuart) (Haley) Cooney, Joyce grew up in the Acre section of Lowell and attended Lowell schools. She was a 1948 graduate of Lowell High School and worked at Anton’s Cleaners on Broadway. After marrying her soul mate, Socrates, they enjoyed traveling together and spending time at their home on Singer Island in Florida.In her lifetime, Joyce was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and aunt. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.Joyce is survived by a sister, Betty Sarantakis of Lowell, MA, a brother, Fred Haley of North Chelmsford, and a brother-in-law Arthur Anton, Sr., of North Andover. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their extended families: Charles Anton and his wife, Tami Anton of Lincoln, MA, Arthur Anton, Jr. and his wife, Nina Anton of Carlisle, MA, Diane Wilmot and her husband, Gunnar Wilmot of Bronxville, NY, Susan Pasanen and her husband, Dr. Wayne Pasanen of North Andover, MA, Michael Sarantakis and his wife, Angela Sarantakis of Lowell, MA, Pola Roumeliotis and her husband, Lou Roumeliotis of Peabody, MA, Ellen Joan Amick and her husband, Tom Amick of Holden, MA, Charles J. Anton and his wife, Virginia Anton of Westford, MA and David Haley and his wife Michelle of Hudson, NH.She was also predeceased by her brother Allan Haley, Jr. and her nephew Stephen Sarantakis.Private funeral services were held recently at Joyce’s request.
