James F. Foley, 84, of Tyngsboro, formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday July 16, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital.

He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Eleanor M. (Kelley) Foley, who survives him.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, April 28, 1937, the son of the late Joseph J. and the late Gertrude (O’Neill) Foley, he attended St. Peter’s school and was a graduate of Keith Academy in the Class of 1954. Jim went on to graduate from Merrimack College with a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Prior to his retirement, Jim was the purchasing agent for the Lowell Housing Authority for many years. Previously, he worked at Kelley Business Forms and Sanders Associates.

Jim was all about family and enjoyed family gatherings, trips to the beach, Nantucket and Naples with his children, grandchildren and his loving wife, Eleanor.

A longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, Jim was humble in nature but an ardent and dedicated volunteer for the parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Oblate Mission Guild and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

He is also survived by three daughters Donna Ravndal and her husband Frank of Fox Point, WI, Susan Quinn and her husband Joe of Westport, CT, Maura O’Brien and her husband Jim of Andover, a son, Jim Foley and his wife Nancy of Bedford, NH, a son-in-law, Fran Lucey and his wife Marianne of Wilmington, DE, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother, John L. Foley and his wife Ginger of Swampscott, a sister, Carmen Foley, SC of Wellesley, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was also the father of the late Martha Lucey who died in 1996 and the brother of the late Joseph Foley and Mary Noon. He was also predeceased by a grandson Andrew Sibiski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday morning, July 21, 2021 at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH in Lowell at 11 o’clock and burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in North Tewksbury.
