Paula, I know how much you loved and cared for your dad. Every time we spoke, you told me how he was doing and that you were visiting him often. He was so lucky to have you helping him. Paul R. Guay, 87, of Groton, Massachusetts, but formerly of Chelmsford and Lowell, died peacefully at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, Massachusetts on Monday January 10, 2022.
He was the loving husband of the late Irene (Laferriere) (Brittain) Guay who died in 2009.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, August 1, 1934, the son of the late Jean P.P. and the late Mildred T. (McGeough) Guay, he attended Rhode Island schools and the University of Rhode Island.
A veteran of the Korean War, Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957.
Paul went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute (nka U/Mass Lowell) in 1974.
In Paul’s free time he enjoyed photography, fishing and traveling with his wife to Hawaii and Florida.
Prior to his retirement, Paul was an electrical engineer with ITEK in Lexington, MA. Previously, he was with Raytheon Corporation for many years.
Paul leaves behind four children. Cathi Brittain and her partner James Browne, Jay Brittain, Robert Brittain and his wife Susan and Paula Shepherd and her husband Greg. Six grandchildren Brooke Lynch, Rachel LeClerc, James Evans, Robert Brittain and wife Jill, Haley Sprague and husband Trevor, and Jackson Garside. And ten great grandchildren, Xavier MacShane, Landon and Connor LeClerc, Reyna Lynch, Liam, Morgan, and Jacob Evans, Robert and MacKenzie Brittain, and Wyatt Sprague.
