Alison Bernard



Alison (Trombla) Bernard, 93, of Dracut Massachusetts, a retired schoolteacher, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 29, 2022.

She was the beloved wife, of the late George J. Bernard, who died in 1986.

Born on May 27, 1928, in Melrose, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late J Edward & the late Zelpha L. (Haynes) Trombla, she attended Amesbury schools and was a graduate of Amesbury High School Class of 1945.

Alison continued her education at U-Mass Amherst and graduated with a B.A.in Education in 1949 and later received her master’s degree in Education at U/Mass Lowell in 1970.

Prior to her retirement, Alison worked in the Lowell Public School system as a 6th grade teacher at the Edith Nourse Rogers Schools for over 17 years.

She is survived by four sons: Christopher Bernard and his wife Ann, of Chelmsford, MA, Michael E. Bernard and his wife Cristina of Hudson, NH, Joseph R. Bernard and his wife Patti of Pelham, NH and George J. Bernard, Jr. Dracut; a daughter Elizabeth A. “Liz” Bernard of San Francisco, CA; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alison was the sister of the late Janice Jordan.

There will be no services at this time. A Memorial Graveside Service will take place at a later date. E-condolences at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
