William Michael Alexis
Owner of the former Alexis Pharmacy;



William Michael "Bill" Alexis, 90, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Friday February 25, 2022. Always grateful for God's blessings, he died peacefully at home "after running out of birthdays."

He was the beloved husband for over 64 years of Clementine (Flomp) Alexis,

who survives him.

Born in Lowell, MA, May 28, 1931, the son of the late Michael V. and the late Efrosine (Gikas) Alexopoulos, he was educated in the Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School Class of 1948.

He furthered his desire to study pharmacy, graduating from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1953.

He worked his apprenticeship starting in 1949 at McCord’s Drug Store in Lowell.  Prior to opening his own pharmacy, he also worked at Community Pharmacy in Dracut and Billerica Pharmacy.

Bill managed and owned the Alexis Pharmacy in Lowell for 40 years and enjoyed every day.  He was proud of the fact that they served the best Lime Rickeys, and it was a great place to meet friends and have a coffee.  He was always grateful for his loyal customers and dedicated staff that made his business successful.

An active member of the Kilwinning Lodge and a Shriner, he was also a member of the Order of Ahepa, and the Hellenic Culture and Heritage Society.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family at their home in Rye, NH as well Spring Training in Florida.  He was a lifelong loyal, but often lonely, Detroit Tiger Fan.  His only regret in life was he couldn't hit a baseball or play a musical instrument.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Andrea Jackson and her husband Steven of Lowell, his son Michael and his wife Susan Irving of Charlestown, MA and his son Peter and his wife Debbi of San Diego, CA; four beloved grandchildren, Zoe and Nicholas Jackson of Lowell and Cassidy Clark of Oakland, CA and Jeremy Clark of Grand Rapids Michigan; his sister Fotine McCarthy of Chelmsford.; and also leaves behind beloved in-laws, cousins,nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday March 3, 2022, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL from 4 to 7 P.M. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY at 11 o'clock followed by his burial at the Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
