Mary M. (Flood) Vinton Mary M. (Flood) Vinton, age 97, a resident of Bruyere Gardens of Lowell, and formerly residing in the Highland section for many years, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2022. She was the wife of Edward B. Vinton who died in 1972.Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 10, 1925 the daughter of the late Patrick H. and the late Sabina (Cromey) Flood, she attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the class of 1943.Mary was a long-time communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell. She was a member of the Peal Harbor survivors group and the USS Maryland (BB-46) survivors group.Before retiring, Mary was a bookkeeper with Wang Laboratories, and was previously with General Electric Wire and Cable Plant in Lowell and Reiss Associates also of Lowell.Mary is survived by her sister-in-law Gertrude (Sullivan) Flood of Kentucky, three nephews, her devoted nephew Emmett Byrne Jr and his wife Kathy of Lowell and their caring children whose young families gave her great joy, John Byrne and his wife Sharon of West Yarmouth and Michael Byrne of Lowell and niece Sheila O’Hagan and husband Thomas of Kentucky.She was the sister of the late Henry, Thomas, and Jack Flood, Helen Byrne, and aunt of the late Thomas Flood Jr. and Thomas Byrne.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday May 20, 2022, at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in Lowell from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.
