I'm very sorry for your loss. What I remember most about Tom is the way he spoke to me when I was young. I sensed no pretense from him, and it made me feel like an adult when we would talk. I always appreciated that.

Thomas F. Murphy, 76, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022.He was the son of Thomas F. Murphy and Helena (Byrt) Murphy of Lowell who predeceased him.Tom was born and raised in Lowell, having attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1964.Tom went on to attend Lowell Technological Institute after which he spent most of his career at Digital Equipment Corporation and then Wang Labs as a project manager. Later in life he served as a Court Officer at Superior Court in Lowell.Tom’s biggest joy in life was supporting his niece and nephews throughout their many activities.He also was a huge follower of politics; local, state or country. He was an avid viewer of CNN and could discuss all the current issues.Tom is survived by two brothers, Garry and his wife Norma and Kevin and his wife Ann; his sister Kathleen Akashian and her husband Bruce, niece Kerry Akashian, nephews Jason Blodgett and his wife Donna, Brian Akashian and his wife Lauren; Matthew Blodgett and his wife Kerry Ann; Brendan Akashian and his wife Sara; Kevin Murphy and his wife Carolyn; his dear cousins Maryann Mulcahey and Xandra Graham, and 13 great nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his brother Gregory who died in 2015.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Wednesday morning November 9, 2022, at ST. MARGARET OF SCOTLAND CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in No. Tewksbury. E-condolences/directions at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
