Sorry to read of Mary’s passing. We graduated LHS together and were in the same section for our first few years at LSTC, graduating together in 1960..She was always full,of energy , cheerful,and friendly. We ra; into each other a few time marketing at Stadium Plaza and she hadn’t changed at all. Perky and interesting. I always liked her!

Mary L. Curran, daughter of the late William M. Curran and the late Bertha M. (Nadeau) Curran passed away on Tuesday December 27 after a brief illness.Raised and educated in Lowell, she graduated from St. Michael Grammar School, Lowell High School with the Class of 1956 and Lowell State Teachers’ College in 1960.Mary was an elementary teacher in the Lowell school system for forty years spending most of those years at the Morey School. She was a very dedicated and conscientious teacher and was proud of all her students.You could always find Mary in her yard from morning until night. She made an all day “job” into an all day “hobby” that she loved and received many compliments regarding her beautiful yard.She had many friends and colleagues that she treasured and shared many laughs with over the years. Mary had a dear friend in Mary Curtin Alden.Mary is survived by her sisters Ann S. Morrissey of Nashua, NH, M. Theresa Curran, with whom she resided and Peg Curran Stanton of Lowell.She leaves behind three nieces, Kathleen F. O’Brien and her husband Timothy of Waltham, Margaret Morrissey and her husband John Deutschmann of Chelmsford and Libby Timperio of Bedford; Three nephews, Michael Morrissey and his wife Michele of Cambridge, Thomas Morrissey of Watertown and Bill Morrissey and his wife Diane of Billerica; also, thirteen grand nieces and nephews. She also held a special place in her heart for all the family pets.Mary was also the sister-in-law of the late Robert Morrissey and the late Paul F. Stanton.Mary’s family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to all the Doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel in the ER, ICU, D-3 and D-4 at Lowell General Hospital. Thanks also to the members of the dialysis team at LGH and the Fresenius Kidney Facility in Lowell.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 o’clock, followed by her interment at St Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
