Sol E. O’Farrill Ocasio

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend,

Sol E. O’Farrill Ocasio, 72, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday evening October 6, 2023, at her home.

Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, on August 1, 1951, the daughter of the late Enrique O’Farrill and the late Hilda Ocasio, she received her education in Puerto Rico.

Prior to her retirement, Sol worked as a police officer in Puerto Rico and later as a housekeeper at the VA Medical Hospital in Bedford, MA. She was also the proud owner of SOWY’s Bakery in Lowell, Massachusetts for 16 years.

Sol was a person of many interests and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, baking, and watching her favorite show, "La Comay." Besides being a hardworking lady, she possessed a caring spirit and was always ready to help others. Although strong-willed, she had a big heart and a great sense of humor. She was loyal, brave, and generous.

Sol will always be remembered for the immense love she shared with her family and friends. Anyone who knew her could attest to her love for each and every one of them. She made an impact on many lives. When her time came, she faced it with dignity and strength, surrounded by love. She will be deeply and forever missed.

She is survived by a daughter: Omayra L. Marcano of Dracut, MA; a son Walter Agosto Jr. and his wife Linda Nom of Lowell, MA; three grandchildren Kiara L. Gonzalez, Christian Chan, and Yarimar Gonzalez; two great-grandchildren Jael Corporan, and Isac Mieses; two sisters Maria Ocasio and her husband Freddy Rivera, Maria O’Farrill; many nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was the mother of the late Yajaira Gonzalez.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET STREET, LOWELL on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Committal will be held privately for the family.
