Robert DaleyLoving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend;Robert Daley, 78, of Chelmsford, but formerly of Lowell, passed away Friday afternoon at his home after a brief illness with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Sally A. (Goodwin) Daley with whom he celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on April 20, 2017.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 11, 1938, a son of the late Thomas and the late Alice (Slattery) (Daley) Chase, Bob attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar school, went on to graduate from Keith Academy with the Class of 1956.
A member of the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1961, he proudly served his country and was stationed in Korea during that time.
Following his military service, Bob continued his education at Bentley College where he received his BA in Accounting and went on to attain his licensure as a Certified Public Accountant.
Bob was a CPA in private practice in Chelmsford for over 30 years until his retirement in 2013.
A passionate history buff, he enjoyed trains and model railroads, traveling, and road trips with family and friends. However his true joy was time spent with his wife and family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Bob is survived by two daughters Laura A. Grenier and her partner Eric Cheever of Hudson, NH and Jennifer L. Dunn of Chelmsford; two sons Steven W. Daley and his partner Thomas Taras of Hampton Bays, NY and Michael C. Daley and his wife Donna of Wallkill, NY; nine grandchildren Christopher, Justin, Emily, Michelle, Michael, Anthony, Vincenzo, Madison and Jamie; two brothers Thomas Daley and his wife Rita of Duxbury and Robert Richard Chase and his wife Angela of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; several nieces and nephews; and his dear friends Kathy and Kevin McGonigal and Mary and David Eberiel.
He was also the brother of the late David R. Chase who died in 2010.
Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in Lowell from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Thursday morning at ST. MARY CHURCH in CHELMSFORD at 11 o’clock. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH).
