Lorraine Jean (Rhynold) Tello

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt;

Lorraine Jean (Rhynold) Tello, 87, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Monday June 12, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine was the beloved wife, for over 65 years, of Joseph “Buster” James Tello of Tewksbury, MA, who survives her.

Born in Boston, MA, May 3, 1936, the daughter of the late John Chesley and the late Doris (Smith) Rhynold, she attended Somerville schools and was a graduate of Somerville High school Class of 1953.

Prior to her retirement, Lorraine worked as an Executive Assistant for Digital Equipment Corporation for over 10 years, she also worked in the Wilmington DeMoulas Supermarket when her children were in high school.

Among her many interests, Lorraine first and foremost was all about family. She loved cooking and baking for the Holidays with her family. Every November Lorraine hosted Ravioli Day at her home, and she would supervise her daughter, daughters-in-law and granddaughters as they made dozens of home-made ravioli for the Holidays. Lorraine enjoyed traveling up North to the Family Cottage in Madison, New Hampshire where she would snowmobile and enjoy stories with the family around the campfire.  For over 10 years she and Buster spent winters in Key Largo, Florida, welcoming their family and friends to the Tiki Hut by the canal. She spent her leisure time sewing and knitting for family and friends. Lorraine was also a bargain hunter and couldn’t pass up finding special gifts for her children, grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She started Christmas shopping for her children and grandchildren in January, and every now and then might forget where she hid a gift.

Besides her husband, Lorraine is survived by four children: Steven F. Tello and his wife Valerie McCann of Tyngsboro, MA, Ronald Tello and his wife Denise of Madison, NH, Mark J. Tello and Anne Standke of Hudson, NH, Linda J. Tello of Tewksbury, MA; eight grandchildren, Nichole Tello of Hudson, NH, Hannah Tello and her husband Shawn Clod of Tyngsboro, MA, Michael Tello and his wife Maria of Hudson, NH, Ashley Austin and her husband Matthew of Tewksbury, MA, Christina Tello of Dracut, MA, Kristopher Tello and his wife Jessica of Hudson, NH, Emma Tello of Nashua, NH, and Brianna Kenyon and her husband Michael of Dracut, MA, and; twelve great grandchildren; she is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was the sister of the late Sally Clerico.
