Raymond J. O’Donnell
Beloved father, grandfather, and uncle;

Raymond J. O’Donnell,  88, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Monday December 18, 2023, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Raymond was the devoted and loving husband of the late Ruth M. (Zabelski) O'Donnell.

Born in the Bronx, New York, April 16, 1935, the son of the late Raymond and the late Irene (Crivellone) O’Donnell, he received his education in the New York school system.  He was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish and Eucharistic minister.

Ray proudly served his country twice in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959, and later in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, serving for 20 years, and retiring as a Sergeant First Class (E-7) .

Prior to his retirement in 2008, Raymond worked at the United States Post Office in Chelmsford, MA as a letter carrier for 40 years. He then worked at St. Margarets Church in maintenance until May of 2023.

Ray enjoyed spending time at his church, and with his family. He also enjoyed exercising and running.

Raymond is survived by two sons: Michael J. O’Donnell and his girlfriend Sarah of Lowell, MA, Kenneth P. O’Donnell and his wife Kate of Haverhill, MA; two daughters Patricia A. O’Donnell of Concord, MA, Nancy O’Donnell-Ducharme and her husband Toby of Tyngsboro, MA; eight grandchildren Joshua Ducharme, Tyler Ducharme, Olivia Ducharme, Camden O’Donnell, Colby O’Donnell, Kylie O’Donnell, Nicholas DiGiulio, and Brianna DiGiulio.

He was the father of the late (baby) Raymond O’Donnell, brother of the late Eileen Cooper, and nephew of beloved late aunt, Eleanor O’Donnell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Funeral Mass on Thursday December 28, 2023, at ST. MARGARET OF SCOTLAND CHURCH, 374 Stevens St in LOWELL, MA, at 10:00 A.M. (Please meet at church). Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA.
