John J. “Jack” Scott, Jr.
Beloved father, grandfather, brother-in-law, and uncle;


John J. “Jack” Scott, Jr., 83, of Dracut, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 9, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA.

He was the beloved husband of the late Paula (L’Heureux) Scott, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Lowell, MA, June 28, 1941, the son of the late John J. and the late Dorothy (Lefebvre) Scott, he attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the class of 1959.

John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Prior to his retirement, John worked for 35 years in several positions for Mass Electric (now National Grid), starting as a Lineman and ending his career in the field engineering department. He was a longtime member and former Treasurer of IBEW Local 326.

Among his many interests, John enjoyed Irish dancing and traveling with his wife and family. He especially loved being with his children and grandchildren. John was also a longtime member of the former Billerica Irish-American Social Club.

John is survived by a daughter, Christine P. Hamilton and her husband Bruce of Hampstead, NH; two sons, Michael J. Scott and his wife Susan Snow of Arlington, MA, and Kevin P. Scott and his wife Kathleen of Lowell, MA; eight grandchildren, Jack, Kevin, Timothy, Sean, and Seamus Scott, Meaghan and Mikaela Hamilton, and William Birmingham and his wife Deanna Christiansen; a sister-in-law, Phyllis C. Scott of Dracut, MA; a brother-in-law, Marc L’Heureux and his wife Mary of Manchester Township, NJ; and three nieces and nephews, Tracy, Marc, and Aime.

He was the brother of the late Leonard W. Scott and the late Kevin F. Scott.

The Scott family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at The Arbors in Dracut for the care, concern and compassion for their father during his time there.

Friends may call on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in Lowell from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. His Funeral Mass will be held at ST. RITA CHURCH in LOWELL, MA, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Condolences/directions at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.     sorry for the loss of Jack. my parents knew Jack and Paula. they would come in to our familys diner. when Paula got sick he kept bringing her in for breakfast. as she got sicker he still brought her in. he'd maneuver in the door.. theyd get to their table hed take off her coat and make sure she was nice and comfortable. the way he took care of his lady i wish more people could have seen it. cheers to a real man. scott conant jr
